Using my restoration philosophy of starting from the rear (stern)and restoring in an forward direction and in the spirit of cheapness, I glued down the first plank made out of a former redwood fence board. After planing it down to 3/8" x 1.75" that sucker got slapped down and using weights (see picture) and what I call "the glue to glue anything" I don't think that is ever going to come off.....talk about commiting oneself!, no turning back from this road to restoration.
